So..here we go.

the problem started when I forgot to refuel and kept it running until it shut off.
I refueled it and it would start, but when put into gear it would die again.
After a while I couldnt even start it anymore.

now, I took it apart. cleaned the carb, and pretty much double checked everything.
..it wouldnt start..
I noticed that little fuel was getting through the filter and checked the carb to see it didnt have any fuel in it.

I dont know a lot about fuel pumps but when I openend it it had an air bubble in it. Plus I could barely blow air through it, but it looked clean.

I also noticed that the filter was leaking gas, like it was dripping out. And the filter which is two parts is very easily taken apart

like so..

so the motor wont start.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>after I ran it dry, before this there were no problems.
fuel doesnt seem to get to the carb.>>>>>>>>>strange, no idea what(exactly) causes this.
the filter is leaking.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>not sure if this is normal.
and I am not sure about the fuel pump.>>>>>>seems rather difficult to blow air through.

before I buy half an engine I hoped you guys could help me with some insight.

thanks in advance:)

Re: Suzuki DT4

The fuel filter should not be leaking. If the housing is undamaged, then you probably need a new o-ring. Replace or gently clean the fuel filter itself if it is clogged.

To test your fuel pump for blockage you can disconnect the line running from the pump to the carb and put the end of the hose in an empty bottle (use a clear bottle that you can recap). Now squeeze your primer bulb. Fuel should easily shoot out of the hose with no resistance.

Check all fuel lines for blockage too. If you ran it dry then there is a chance you sucked up some sediment/particles on the bottom of your fuel tank.
