ok I have the diaphram kit here and I was going to put it in but I was looking at the gasket/diaphram that I took out and I think maybe someone put the old one in the wrong order .
does it go outside cover gasket then diaphram or is it outside cover diaphram then gasket .

I have looked at a few photos on net but I think I have seen it both ways

What year do you have? 62-63 is outter housing, then diaphram, then gasket with large hole matched to large recess in middle housing then gasket with 2 smaller holes between housing and block. At least that is how the parts diagram shows it and i recall mine was a month ago when i did it. Quite frankly i don't think it would matter.
