1989 evinrude cuts out after running in full throttle

I have a 1989 evinrude 60hp outboard TE60TLCEA. When i first start off the motor will run fine at all rpms. But when i run at full throttle for a couple minutes the motor will start to miss and sometimes will feel like its running on 2 cylinders and other times it will feel like its running on 1 cylinder no matter where i put the throttle. If i take it easy and only run about 75% throttle it seems the motor wont mess up. Sometimes when i hit some bigger waves it will cause these same symptoms. Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong?

I had one that was doing about the same thing what it turned out to be was the plate that the stator assembly screws onto under the fly wheel was loose. Mine was only a 25 hp, tho Also check the wires real good for a short around the throttle advance could be something getting pinched as you advance the throttle. good luck
