has anybody tryed innovative labs 32 alternator kit? it looks like a good deal? I was just wondering if they are a quality kits Ive had this boat for a month took it out 2 times with a non charging system/battery fully charged (4 hours or hard running pulling kneeboards ect.) @ 4000 to 4400 rpm and i haven't ran out of battery power yet but I'm not going to push my luck any more... thanks in advance of any and all replys

I am not familiar with "Innovative Labs." I and many others on this forum have had good luck with the kit from, www.breezeworks.net

Just looked at the kits they offer, the "upper" mount kit looks flimsy to me.

The adjust bracket looks very long and has too many bends in it. (just my opinion).
Can't really tell on the "lower" kit.
Maybe someone here has that kit and can chime in how sturdy it is.

I made my own kit by copying this one for sale. Made a cardboard template for the head and front cover holes and cut it out of steel.

I agree, that top mount kit looks flimsy. Doesnt look like anything more than an $10 Autozone aftermarket chrome Chevy alternator bracket with a z-bend in it. My first attempt at my homemade bracket used that bracket. Wiggled and jiggled like crazy, I went back to the drawing board after about 1 hour run time with it.

Guys,

thanks for all the feed back so far I will need the lower as mine has P/S I talked to Him he said the clearence measurement is exactlly 10.5" from the stator or whatever it called (sorry first time ive owned a boat) at 9 oclock the breezeworks lower mount he said measure 3" down on the outside of the waterhose then 3.5" away from the motor witch looks almost the same 10.25 another Q I have is 1 wire alternator what just hook up to the battery ?

UPDATE,

I called innovatives and he told me that on the lower kit the alternator bolts directly to the block? I'm assuming that its bolted where the water resevior bolts ?? is this a good idea or ? thanks in advance.

Not pretty by any means, but my buddy had a friend in the machine shop at the airport, and he bent this up in like 5 minutes. It looks flimsy, but ive watched it and it doesn't budge. The bolt to the block holds it steady, the bracket is just keeping it from turning. The alternator was found laying on a shelf. So this conversion was free. I love free!!

I bought this one for my 470, but never used it. I liked the cast metal design.
