AQ 131A 275 OUTDRIVE Prop Change

I have a 1988 19ft Bayliner Capri with a volvo penta 131A motor and a 275 outdrive.I want to change the prop from a 14" 19 pitch to a 15" 17 pitch to help me get up on plane faster.Will this do the trick? Also how much RPM will I gain? I don't want to blow up the motor.

All things being equal, I suspect you'll gain about 350 rpms. It will indeed plane faster.

This can vary widely depending on prop design, material, type of hull, etc...
