You do it like this: You DO NOT use the engine starting battery in the 24 volt system. You can of course but you shouldn't. OBSERVE POLARITY CAREFULLY.

thanks alot silver tip....i have one more question it probably sounds stupid but does it matter what battery i hook the motors wires too

you will have to separate the 12volt circuit from the 24 volt circuit or you will fry the 12 volt circuit. there are multi-voltage battery converters for two battery systems that will charge the batteries as 12 volt (in parallel) and pull power from them in series. I believe its surepower that makes it.

What do you mean? You'll need a bank of 2 for the trolling motor and a separate one for the 40hp.

sorry i meant the trolling motors wires i have a seperate battery for the the outboard

YES..do it just like the picture.
Look closely,theres a connection from each battery.

Of course it makes a difference which battery you hook the motor wires to. Just follow the diagram.
