1994 Crownline 202 BR with a 350 Mag EFI
Boat has been running flawlessly all summer until this past weekend. Just started with this problem.
Out of the hole, attempting to get up on plane, tach hits about 3000 and the motor stumbles, looses power back down to about 1000-1500 rpm, never stops, just sounds doggy. Pull the throttle back. Play with it 2, 3, 4 times and feather it up instead of dropping the hammer and it will climb up to full power. Runs good at full power, able to turn about 4800-5000 and runs smoothly. Once you get it up past the problem, I can back it down and run about 2600-3000 to stay on plane without a problem.
3000-3100 on the tach is the exact spot it cuts out every time, whether I drop the hammer or feather it up. Seems odd.
Calling my mechanic Monday, but just thought I'd see if anybody has had experience with this problem so we know what to check first.
