looking for info on 1991 johnson 115...looking at 17' classic with 2009 rebuild...need to do compression check and need in fo on size of plug for compression check....1/2, 9/16/ 5/8...?????....should all cyl. be 120 and what should the max pressure difference between cyl be....thxs 1,000,000 for info

14mm tester. Since this is a new to you motor and just "rebuilt", I would be looking for ~5lbs max difference. 10lbs difference is still within spec. if you are getting a good deal, but would put to question whether it was a 1st rate rebuild.

rebuild 40 hours (2010)...engine looks and sounds solid and I will be doing a compression check and sea trail before finalizing deal...boat has been restored within 3 months with 99 alum trailer kept in dry storage in like new condition....got all for $4,500.00...I beleive i stole it...guy needs cash and has over $6500.00 in receipts.....thxs so much for info

it is an ok buy...I have seen some real nice boats selling for $2500-5000, it is definatley a buyers market and CASH is king. but with a sea trial, compression check, and check the oil in the gearcase for water intrusion. it is easy to spend way more on a boat than what it will sale for..sounds like this guy has learned that lesson..it is way cheaper to buy something already fixed up, than to buy a project, i also learned this the hard way.
