Charging system on 50273c, 50hp

Hello everyone,
I need a little help, I am not sure if my motor has a charging system on it. I thought I read on the site that a 50273C did not have a charging system, but after looking through the repair manual and looking at exploded views, it appears that the 50273c does have a charging system??? I am confused, please help. (obviously if it does have a charging system it does not work which is another problem)

The diagram shows part# 69 is the rectifier. Check your engine, if you got the rectifier yours has a charging system. I just found out my 82' 50hp has a charging system after atleast 9 years of being told it didn't. Changed the rectifier and IT CHARGES!

It does have the rectifier that is show on the diagram. Looks like I have some repairs to make. Good news though.
