Mercury 9.9 hp 2-stroke identification and lube question

I just bought a small aluminum fishing boat and it has a Mercury 9.9 hp 2-stroke engine, serial number "0A742201". I'm pretty sure that's correct, although it's a little hard to read. I have checked all the listed sites, and don't find anything that shows that particular range of numbers, so I'm having trouble identifying the model year of the engine.

Also, I'd like to know how to go about lubricating the lower unit. The manual is missing some pages!
