Need some Advice on what i need to do so that the boat does not scrape the cross member on old gator trailer. The gator trailer is the original to the boat a 1967 Larson All-American.It is also a tilt trailer with a pin if that helps.Anyways what should i do here? Raise the front bunk support? Adjust keel rollers up?Add a tongue keel roller.I only have about an inch between the tongue and the keel currently. The first time i hit a bump the keel will smash into the tongue.

Put a keel roller on the tongue just behind where the "V" is welded onto the tongue. This will keep the keel from hitting it on a bump but also keep it from hitting when loading the boat since it will hit the roller first and pick the boat up.

I would try to rig another roller in the area of possible contact.

You also need to add a bow lock down chain from the bow eye to the trailer frame. Chain and turnbuckle.

Re: Don't want to scrape up my KEEL? HELP?

Hi Zarillus. I've got a 1967 Larson All American 186 that I'm restoring. The structure of the boat is in great shape so my restoration is more about bringing the beauty back to a classic boat. I've stripped it completely and filled all holes. I'm ready for paint now. As I've looked through the restoration posts, I came across yours. Your paint job is beautiful and makes the boat look amazing. So, I've got a couple questions. Do you have any additional pictures of the boat, maybe in the water? Also, what paint did you use on the boat? Any info or photos would be greatly appreciated.

Nabstar, you really need to start your own thread. You have hijacked an old thread. Very bad forum manners.

You will get more and faster help if you make a new thread for your new topic.
