Okay I need some help here.........Dumb but not stupid ;) I have a 1989 Tracker Johnson 25 hp motor on my pontoon boat. I have been having a
problem with it sucking air. Simple fix has been to put liquid electrical tape on this part, once it has cured it seems to take care of the problem. until
the tape cracks then we are back to sucking air. I have enclosed a picture of this part, and I believe it to be the electrical primer and
it is sucking air at the manual valve. Would someone be so kind to tell me is this the electrical primer?

That is the 'electrical primer' replacing the old type choke system.
Just replace the cover and valve(red lever) part.
I see however some clear plastic hoses running around which is a no-no as they tend to get either hard and leak or as soft and leak. Replace with the original rubber hose.

Definatly electric primer. You can rebuild these things. If it is working change the seals and gaskets, much cheaper than buying new.
