Can someone explain the difference between an automotive Holley carb versus a marine Holley carb?

The marine carbs have J-shaped fuel bowl vent tubes and sealed throttle shafts. Their supposed to meet specifications pertaining to backfires and flooding set fourth by the coast guard. Marine carbs usually have the dichromate finish as well. I've never used them and have been boating over 20 years. My dad never used them either, but we both run open engines.

Thanks Was wondering if it was just the vent tube that was different.
