I am trying to convert a 1987 Nissan NS40C shortshaft that I have owned since new to a longshaft was able to pickup a 1984 Tohatsu M40C longshaft with a blown cylinder head for the donor. In looking at the manual just a little confused can I just remove the driveshaft housing and do the swap or do I first have to remove the power unit and motor cover lower to get at the driveshaft housing? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
