Evinrude 9.9 stalls out

evinrude model 10924B, 9.9hp
I can get it running but it quits about 2 minutes after starting.

the top of my gas tank has a hair line crack on the fitting where the fuel line attaches.

any thoughts?

That crack could be causing an air leak (loss of prime) in the fuel line which would starve the motor and shut it down. Good place to start is by replacing that fitting.
