Before I get into trouble!

Hello everyone. I just put a fuel/water seperator on my 2003 Stingray. I decided to go ahead and replace the rubber fuel lines while I was at it. The marine dealer sold me Sierra Siverado 3000 bulk fuel line. It installed fine and after installation I happened to go online and noticed that this product lists for use with outboard motors. It is a light color plastic type line. The dealer said this is what everyone is going to because of the ethanol. Considering I have a 3.0 I/O I wanted to make sure that this was the proper line to use. Last thing I want is a fuel leak or fuel problems on a boat (KABOOM). If anyone is familiar with this product, your input would be greatly appreciated!

i think its just more UV protected since outboard fuel line is usually partially exposed to the elements. as long as its routed fine away from heat as much as possible it should be ok

Re: Before I get into trouble!

It's the wrong stuff. You need type A1 fuel hose for inside the engine compartment.
The outboard hose will not pass the fire test.

A1 hose http://www.iboats.com/Shields-Fire-...89466683--**********.733126926--view_id.45038

3000 hose http://www.iboats.com/Silverado-300...9466683--**********.733126926--view_id.685948

Just look at the contruction of the hoses in the links above.

Thanks for the replies on this post. I have to totally agree with Don on this. When I cut through it, it appeared to just be single wall construction. That leaves me with huge reservations about it. Looks like I will tear it out and get the right stuff. Thanks for the knowledge base Don. Your very helpful!
