Motor only sounds horn at wide open throttle. One time it brouhgt my rpms down automaticly. Can run all day at lower rpms with no horn. If i open it up and horn sounds i can immediatly slow down, shut engine off, restart and proceed with no horn. Checked water flow, two new thermostats, checked blow off valve [new one orderd], checked for fuel restrictions [and new fuel filter], checked sensors in hot oil for open-close. Water pressure at wot is 15 to 20psi.
I was wondering if sensor wire is too close to plug wire could it sound horn? Going to check compression today. If that is ok what should i do next. Thank you thank you in advance for any responses.

Also i would like to know what direction to install blow off valve seal. One direction will give you a solid seal around the cone. If it is turned the other way it leaves a space between the cone and seal because of notches around the seal. What is the correct install? Thanks again.

Not familiar with your system, but if you want to do the maintenance on your engine I would suggest you get the factory manual for your engine. It will help you with trouble shooting your problems.

The seal has writing on it...something like "To CYL HEAD". That side goes AWAY from the block and TOWARD the housing (cyl head side).

My water pressure is 30-35 psi at WOT. 10-15 psi at idle.

Re: 94 johnson 200 overheat * What to do next?

Had boat out today and found out i have some kind of fuel restriction. Alarm sounded when i went over a wave and motor rpm's went up because prop was out of water. I slowed down to idle and pumped the bulb. The horn immediately went off. The horn sounded several more times and as soon as i pumped the bulb it stopped. I'm thinking i got a bad fuel filter or the wrong one. Will let you all know what i find. Thanks for info on blowoff valve. JUst glad to figure it out!

It could also be restriction in fuel tank vent or partially clogged antisiphon valve. That motor may have a main strainer under the airbox. See if it is clean.

FOUND THE ROOT CAUSE!! When I installed the fuel filter [no it wasn't reversed] I replaced the fuel line between the filter and bulb. The brand new fuel line is clogged or collapsed! The bulb and filter[with a different hose] flows freely. Almost no gas will flow through the new hose when you squeeze the bulb. Cant wait to take it back to dealership.

Use to have the same problem and it was a temp sensor (port side)
