Hey guys, need one of these badly- seems NLA everywhere and obsolete is a word thats being tossed around alot. If it's obsolete, doesnt that mean they've replaced it with a newer design? its for an 81 merc 25(2cyl 2 strk). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you checked ebay for a complete replacement carb? sometimes the only way to get parts is to buy the whole carb and take what you need off of it.

i havent done that yet, hadnt thought of it actually. I'll see what I can find, but i was ordering a repair kit for my carb and just wanted to replace the jet- to be sure my 25 frankenmerc isnt actually an 18 wearing a 25 cowling. Thanks. Still hoping for the jet though, but if i can find a decent carb i'll get it- its an 81 though. are chances good of finding my carb?

There should be some on eBay. When i looked for one for my motor (1979 Merc 402 40hp) there were 4 or 5 for sale ranging from 30-80 bucks. They all looked to be in good condition.

there are also lots of websites that sell used mercury parts, just search for used mercury parts on google. might come up with something
