I have a 1985 Wellcraft 180 Fisherman w/ a 1999 Yamaha S150 TXRX. Unfortunately my gauge panel has room for one more gauge. Right now I have a fuel gauge, Yam tach w/trim position and all my 12v switches. I thought the next best choice would be to add a temp gauge to monitor. Has anyone added one to this type of motor? Any suggestions and am I correct in my choice? I have a gps to monitor speed, battery voltage etc.

Teleflex or Faria should have a gauge with a sendor on it. I believe you just screw it in one of the available slots on a cylinder head and you'll be good to go.

From what I'm reading Yam uses a tapered pipe for the sender as opposed to a straight wall adapter like most. They do have a kit I believe that allows you to use a non Yam gauge but for what I'm seeing not that much different in gauge price.
