Hi everyone,
I am a new owner of 2007 AZURE 238 with a 6.2 merc...@ 143 hours.
Well recently I have been encountering a problem when i go from cruising down to almost in neutral and the engine will die......but it does start back ok....just seems like something right before neutral is killing engine...this makes for some crazy dockings!
Any thoughts ???
Thanks in advance!!

How does the engine idle? Smooth as silk or some surging? Defective IAC would be one possibility.

well..........it doesnt idle smooth as suggested .......but while in gear it idles nice....in WOT it doesnt miss a beat.....it just wont go from forward to idle without choking and dieing?
The only things i have done add a small bottle of startron aND one can of seafoam at 1/2 tank(@35gallons@)
The marinas fuel claims to have Valvetech in it.
Puzzled!

That's an electronic fuel injection motor if I'm right. Does it show a check engine light? If so there may be a stored trouble code to lead you toward the issue, like a car. Problem is, you need the correct device to read the code, if there even is one. A lot of us on here are futzing around with old school ignitions and carburetors.
The thing the guy above thought of is the Idle Air Control. But don't just buy one, many things are involved, guessing can get expensive really fast. If you will keep the boat a long time and are ok to good with a wrench you might want to see what scanner the motor needs. Some of the guys on Offshore Only or the Donzi Registry have a clue as to your sort of issue. I'd post your problem over there too.
Oh, welcome to Iboats & good luck.
