So.... the trim indicator on my 2005 Yamaha 115 says that the trim is all the way up all the time. I can't find any diagrams anywhere that will tell me where the sending unit is. I also can't find any problems with the gauge itself. Anyone else have this problem?? Help, it's dosen't keep me off the water, but it is annoying.

Re: Trim indicator

The sending sensor is on the trim unit...there should be a wire coming from the bottom of the cowl that goes to the trim sensor. Have you tested the gauge by shorting the ground to sending input to see if it moves? Sounds like a bad gauge or the sensor is stuck/broken. I think I've seen posts on this so try searching to get a better idea of it. Sometimes you can oil it to free it up or if it's a bad gauge the shorting of it would let you know. Don't mess with gauge wiring while the battery is connected though, you might blow a fuse or the gauge.
