where to look

1987 rinker 25ftr where do i look for numbers on moter and out drive so you guys can tell me what i got so i can get a manual. all i know right now is its an omc v8

The serial number for the engine should be on the top of the block on the portside of the engine towards the stern where the block bolts to the bell housing. Right behind the port side head.<br /><br />Some blocks will have an attatched plate on the port head right in front.

The outdrive should should say either Volvo or OMC on it. You said it's a V8 so if it's a Cobra there should be a serial plate attached to the thermostat housing. This should have the model and serial number of the engine on it.
