i have a 85 bayliner 16 foot capri 2.1 sohc does anyone know what outboard it would have or where i would be able to find it?

Are we saying that you have a Volvo 2.1 liter SOHC engine with a 270 outdrive?

Or are you looking for a "270 out board" (which I doubt you'l able able to find)?

Look down by the starter mounting boss, it probably says AQ125A,B

If the drive says 270, thats what you have, so, what is the question?

That boat does not have an outboard, it is a sterndrive consisting of an inboard motor and an outdrive.

That should be an AQ125A Volvo penta 2.1L motor and an Aquamatic 270 outdrive.

To verify, do what sqbtr said.

Give bayliner a call with your hull ID number. they can tell you what the model and serial numbers of your engine and drive were when it left the factory. Plus they will send you a copy of the owners manual if you ask.
