1976 65 hp. triple ,new trigger wires???

Hello my new tigger has different colored wires than the old one , does anyone know ? I only have one wire that is the same and is the violet which is the second wire down on control box,and another thing will hooking the trigger up wrong hurt anything ?

What colors do you have?

The factory manual shows Violet, White, brown.

And in that order with Violet on top.

Hello, The old one has violet in # 2, The new wires are white, violet,white w/black stripe and brown. This is the order I think they go. I have a good blue spark. Please correct me if this is wrong.

Put the correct color on switchbox as it is labeled...

Go figure, it is labeled. So dumb + so simply Thanks. Still not running though.

It is doing the same ole thing it was doing for me to put in a new trigger in the first place Backfiring and not running!!
