i have a 21' crest pontoon with a 1986 75 hp. mercury motor, the cavitation plate rides about a inch below the water when boat is not moving just
sitting in the water. i have a 3 blade prop with 2832-13 stamped on it. at wot the boat is going along at 4100 rpm and then it revs and the boat

slows until i back it off, at the cavitation or rev point the tac is about 5000 rpm. it does this going straight down the lake. any suggestions or

comments would be helpful and thank you in advance!!

Re: cavitation problem on pontoon

Perhaps your motor is too high. I don't really have pontoon experience, just a thought.

It may not be the best advice, but maybe I can trigger someone else to pipe up..

Good luck!
