Overheated motor now alarm will not go off????

1991 Johnson Fastrike 150hp yesterday overheated motor. Alarm went off i shut it down it smelled awful and was smoking and hot to the touch .Let it cool down after trying to clear the screens on the pick-ups and then after about 7hrs it sarted but the alarm is still on . I tried backflushing it and then tried to run it on muffs but alarm will not shut off?? What do you think do I need to replace impellar

Sounds like you ran for a while with the alarm sounding. Not good if you did that. You need to determine why it overheated first. I would start with the water pump and go from there. I woulds also check the compression all around too.

Check the tan wires going to the cyl head temp senders. You may have fried one of them and it's grounding out causing the horn to go off.
