Welcome to iboats. It helps to know where you intend to register the boat. Every state is different, if you are in the US.

Around here nobody really registers little 10' boats. I mean don't get me wrong people do register them but it's not too often. Unless you're going to put a gas outboard on it I would not even bother.

If I'm reading this thing correctly, hulls UNDER 14' DO NOT require regristration in North Carolina. http://www.ncwildlife.org/License/documents/Vessel/VL1Form.pdf

And, I see no where that the form request a Model number...anyway, if some DMV/ DNR idiot still insist upon one, just use the combination of the length in feet plus the width in inches for a model: ex. 1048

Re: need help getting boat registered....missing info

ok...ty for the help.....the rule, according to a neighborhood wildlife officer, is that...... any vessel with a motor of any kind in a body of water unless said body of water is private, has to be registered with the state of North Carolina. this includes trolling motors according to him. i dont know really know as this is my first boat.....i had to get my wife to sell it to me with a bill of sale form before i could get it registered to put this trolling motor on it..... i do plan on stepping up to a bigger boat in the near future....but i live on a lake and this boat is perfect just for this lake. thanks again for all the helpful suggestions.

I have a similar HIN #, which is APBF5061M73H. My boat was sold by Sears and I think the year is a 1973-75. I am assuming 73 because of the M73H and the HIN search confirmed it.

Each State is different. In Ohio if it's floating on public water it needs to be registered with the hull numbers. Even an inner tube!!
