After thumbing through all may OMC, Chilton, Mercruiser and even Fiero repair manuals, I found a suitable replacement for the standard main bearings on a
1980's OMC 3.0L.
What I found was that the 1980 Pontiac Sunbird, starfire, skyhawk and monza all have a 2.2988 Ave. crankshaft journal. I took a gamble on the oil hole location and ordered them from a auto parts chain. They said if it didnt match I could leave them there. Well I took my old ones with me and to my pleasnt suprize they were a match. I waited until I got the plastigauge results before I wrote this post.
All were .002" and all oil holes are in perfect alignment.
FYI for all the folks that may not have a close by marine parts store.
