I recently disconnected my batteries in my boat and when I reconnected I did Parallel. Now my bilge pump sounds like it is running half speed, and my tilt/trim is slower than it was. Should I have connected it in Series? I do not remember how it was originally. If so, How do I connect it correctly in Series??

Any help appreciated:confused:

Re: Batteries connected in Series or Parallel help needed ???

More information is needed.
Are your batteries 6 volt or 12 volts?
If they are 6 volt the should be connect in Series.
If there 12 volts then they should not be connect in serries.

If you connect 12 volts batteries in series then you will have 24 volts and it will burn up 12 volt motors.

To connect in serries the ground of the first battery goes to the motor ground or ground buss bar.

The ground of the second battery goes to the positive of the first battery.

The positive of the second goes to the positive buss bar.

Be carefull and be sure before you connect.

Most boats have 12 volts batteries and run on 12 volts.
Some boats may have a 24 volt trolling motor.
