rebuilding 67 glaspar, has metal tank, heard plastic was safer , lighter , to use not sure which way to go. would the old tank have to be flushed, also heard they could spark
I had a couple of metal tanks for several years. Due to external corrosion (use on salt water) I eventually had to have them cleaned and powder coated. Plastic tanks are just not going to corrode and this is what gives them the advantage in my opinion. However, the metal tanks are very rugged and a bit nostalgic.
