basically, you have to remove the outdrive.
seperate the lower and upper units.
once you have that done there are 4 bolts in the bottom of the upper gearcase that hold the unit in. remove them 4 bolts and you are in business.
I did this last year and it is not too bad, however you should definately have a manual to walk you through it all
