94 model evinrude 48 hp starting problems

I recently bought a boat with a 48 hp evinrude motor.Once started it runs,idles and cranks very good the rest of the day.the problem I am having is I have to shoot a little starting fluid to it the first time I crank it every day.Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem?Thanks!

DON'T use starting fluid (no lubrication), get a little spray bottle and use gas/oil mix. This might sound odd but I would check for spark when your engine has sat and before you try to start it. Use a spark gap tester. Also, when you push in your key to activate your primer, listen and you should be able to hear the primer click. No click probably means no prime and a hard to start situation. Best of luck. Rick.
