I grew up in tiller boats all my life, mostly 12s and 14s with 9.9hp and 15hp motors, but now I am looking into purchasing a 1600 fish hawk with 75hp mercury 4 stroke for primarily fishing, but also for watersports every once in a while. i don't know much about larger boats or waterskiing/wakeboarding so i am wondering what kind of performance i can expect out of this package with 2 adults and fishing gear, and also what kind of performance i can expect to tow around a waterskiier or wakeboarder, or if it is even possible. 75hp is max for the boat, and i would rather stay with 4 stroke. the dealer i talked to said i may need to switch to a stainless steel prop for watersports. let me know what you guys think, any help would be appreciated. oh yea, top speed for this boat according to the dealer with 2 adults and fishing gear is around 38-40mph.
