Can I use Evinrude brand 2 stroke oil to mix 100:1 mix for a 8 hp Yamaha? The Evirude oil bottle does not give the amounts for a 100:1 mix on the bottle. Is this brand insufficiant to mix a 100:1 ratio?
Thanks much, Rifflerunner17

Your Yammy can successfully use any TC-W3 outboard oil, runner. Many of us use SuperTech from Wal Mart.

I would use a 50:1 mix, rather than 100:1, because other makers that tried 100:1 ran into trouble with long term storage and retro-specified 50:1. What mix you use is up to you.

I'd recommend 50:1 for best lubrication and corrosion protection of internal shiny metal parts like crankshaft, bearings, etc. The Pennzoil 100% Synthetic Outboard Oil is good, and use the Yamaha Ringfree and Stabil all the time to help prevent carbon and fuel related problems. Good Luck!

Thanks much! I think I'll go with 50:1. The recomended 100:1 sounds a little sparse to me.

Thanks! After some research I was able to read about the problems with the 100:1 mix.
