Motor Won't Do Anything

Hey guys,

Went to crank the boat yesterday on the muffs, and it won't do anything. Not a sound. Key switch doesn't beep, trim doesn't work, starter doesn't engage, flywheel doesn't spin, absolutely nothing. All other electronics are working-radio, gps, vhf, etc.

Boat: 2001 Keywest 2020CC
Motor: 2001 Mercury 200XL

Any suggestions?

Not sure of you motor, but most Merc's have a fuse on the small red wire comming off of the start relay on the right side of the motor. this feeds power to the key switch. It looks like a small (about 1/2"dia) rubber connector in the wire.
Your other electronics dont get power from the key switch.

....I really hate to ask this, but I guess it must be asked.......do you have a fully charged battery? Perhaps your lanyard connection is malfunctioning, or the 20 amp fuse in the engine is blown.....good places to start. Good luck.
