Around here, we ski and tube as long as we get a warm day (70 or higher) and the water temps are above 60 degrees, sometimes that could be up till almost the middle of Dec.

My season is typically 3/1 - 12/31. Typically do a January 1-2 day trip to Va. Beach or Nags Head

Sometimes the cove freezes over, but not so bad I can't break up a channel with a kayak. I've been out a least once a month for the past 3 years.

My son will wakeboard till November (water temps in the 50's).

Re: When does your boating season end?

It's hard to say since I use different boats for different things, but I said "January" since I don't have any need to be in the boat in February and March, except I like to run it at least every other weekend then for a short run. I'm often using a boat for transportation, not just for a "boat ride."

Summertime obviously is the busiest.
Early fall is great cruising because it's not as hot, plus there's some different types of fishing.
Oct-Dec 31 is striper fishing, which involves a lot of night boating.
Nov-Jan is duck season, so I'm out in smaller boats, both to hunt and to get to our club.
Mid-March is when we reopen the club, so I have to be in the boat then, but generally don't get out much until
April, again for cruising and early season fishing, and ease on into summer.

Around here, for those who don't hunt or fish in the winter, the season is mid-April to mid-October. I love the fact that we have a long season and generally mild weather through out; any bad spells are short-lived and we get lots of "surprise days" in mid winter.

Someone please explain the Apr-July answer. Your boating season must already be over.

I live in FL on the gulf so for the most part I can boat year round. Rain is more of a concern than temp.

Re: When does your boating season end?

we get to boat year round here in central Florida. Funny enough is the summer storm season that dictates when we go out... 60% chance of thunderstorms before 2 p.m. says we stay at home!!!

Australia is in the southern hemisphere, our summer is their winter. They have Christmas in the summer.

Down here in 'Bama we boat year 'round. The Blue Catfish start biting good in January and Crappie start in Feb/Mar.

All year round... coolest month is July, averages about 20C (70F), hottest is January, averages about 30C (90F). :)

Best months are Sep/Oct/Nov and Mar/Apr/May.

This was last Sunday:

Just wondering how much longer is your boating season going to last.

Ayuh,... When the trailer no longer breaks up the shell ice on shore, so's I can launch...
Usually 'bout November, or early December...

Although, January 6, of 06, it was 60? on the St. Lawrence River, 1000 Islands,...
That was the Latest I've been able to go boatin'.....

My boat is at the dock from April/ May to October/ November...

Year round for us here in So Cal. I average at least one launch a week throughout the year. Granted the admiral is not real fond of being on the lake, all bundled up, when the air temp is 40'ish in January but she humors me and joins me from time to time. But more often than not, the "winter" months I go solo. I don't let the air temp stop me but I do let the rain stop me.

Usually the wind and temps bring and end to happy boating in Maine by mid/end of October.

Right Bondo? You were here awhile.
