Hi
I have a 2007 model Mariner 80 EFI 4 stroke and my problem is that when engaging gear and accelerating, the engine is as it should be until it reaches 2400 rpm then a rev limiter kicks in causing the engine to misfire.
I have been told that this may be intended to prevent over revving in neutral, however it is cutting in when in gear and under way. do I have a faulty sensor and if so does anyone know where this is on the engine so that I may disconnect it? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Doug
