Hello everyone. I am the new owner of a 20' Glastron GT205 with a Mercruiser 4.3L 190HP I/O motor. Everything is going well with all components and engine seems to run very well except for one part which Im hoping is just some sort of adjustment needed. When Im cruising around the lake and bring the engine to throttle to the neutral position, I usually wait about 10-15 seconds before I turn off the engine via the key. The engines chokes itself to a off position which usually can last up to 7 or 8 seconds. I hope you can understand what I mean when I say chokes to off. It's as if there is gas left in the carburator or fuel line or something and it just burns it off before it shuts off. I've only had the boat a month and bought it brand new and it wasnt doing that the first 2 weeks I was using it. I purchased gas from the marina which had the ethanol additive and also purchased gas once at a regular gas station and added the ethanol additive manually. Can someone please give me some advice as to why this is happening. Thank you much

Ayuh,.... Best I can figure, yer talkin' 'bout Dieseling at shut down...

Start with a full, 'n complete Tune Up....

Get it Fixed, or yer flirting with disaster, as Dieseling leads to hydro-lock, 'n broken motors...

Thank you. I called the boat store where I bought the boat and they told me to bring it in for an adjustment. Part of the issue is that I am idling at around 1400rpm and he said that it should be around 800 when warm. So once he adjusts that I shouldn't have that issue anymore. I will do that this weekend and see what type of results I see. Thank you

So maybe 800 on muffs translates to 650 in water? not sure of the conversion.

Let us know what the dealer says and if they make it right.
