1984 9.8 hp 2 stroke merc oil leak

I have oil leaking out from behind the prop and want to know how to get at the prop seal.

First, check and see if it's gear oil or unburnt 2 cycle oil thats comming out.

it is gear oiland water is in lower unit

Pressure and vacuum check the lowerend.
The last time the gear oil was changed. did whoever change it put . New washers? SP?

i can see the oil seeping out of the prop shaft.i need to get carrier bearing out to replace seal does the carrier bearing screw out or pullout? i have the nut off that holds the carrier assm. in I need repair manuel for 9.8 merc
