I have recently bought a 16' 1969 Johnson Seasport I/O that I'm restoring. I've got the 155 horse Buick V-6 running like a top and it's almost ready for the water, but I'm having a hard time finding Type "C" 80 weight gear oil for the outdrive. This old girl has electric shift in the lower unit so it must have 80 weight gear oil to work properly. I've found a few sources for 80W gear oil but it's not specified as Type "C". Can anybody tell me if this will work? Thanks!
