I have an older Garmin GPSMap 162 that I want to hook up to my Uniden Solara DSC radio. However, I'm getting some conflicting info on exactly how to do it.

The manual that came with my Solara IDs the accessory wires as:
Thick Black - DC GND
Orange - External Speaker (+)
Black - External Speaker (-) GND
Green - GPS Data IN
Brown - GPS GND
Yellow - NC

The manual for my GPSMap 162 IDs the Data/Power wires as follows:
Red - DC 10-40 Volts (+)
Black - Ground (-)
Blue - NMEA Out
Brown - NMEA In
White - Not Used
Green - Not Used
Yellow - Alarm Low

From this, I would expect to make the hook up as follows:
Radio Green -> GPS Blue
Radio Brown -> GPS Black

I really don't want to "fry" either unit. Can anybody confirm this? Or, can I get the correct hook up from somebody?
Thanks!

Re: Hooking up VHF to GPS

Didn't get any answers. But I did find what I needed and a lot that can be shared. I found this PDF file that shows the VHF/DSC hookups for a number of different brands of radios and GPS units:

Perhaps it will help someone else!
Cheers!
