I have a Volvo Penta 3.0 4 cyl. in my 2005 Glastron. Lately, the water temp. gauge does not rise above 100 degrees. Is the thermostat likely stuck open, and, if so, where is it?

It may be the thermostat is stuck open, what you need to do is verify the temp with one of those IR Temp guns to make sure the engine is actually running that cold or the gauge is showing it to be cold.
Aim the temp gun at the temp sender which is mounted on the bottom of the thermostat housing.

Thanks Don. Now pictures I have seen from Volvo seem to show that the thermos. is mounted in the large hose itself, not inside the housing. Could this be on a 3.0GLP-C? Also can this assembly be dismounted while boat in water, or would it be below boat waterline?
