newbie to pontoon boats boat is cavitating at wot PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

i have a crest pontoon 21' with a 1986 mercury 75 hp. long shaft motor, the numbers on the prop are 2832 13 im thinking that is the size and pitch. anyway at wot the boat revs and slows down,i back off the throttle and it stops until i wot again. wierd thing is it does it most of the time but not always. the prop is not cuppped and it does this while going straight. the cavitation plate is just below the surface of the water is this correct??

any help or thoughts would be appreciated THANKS IN ADVANCE:confused:

sounds like it is the right height and prop, is the prop damaged??? what is your WOT RPMs when it is not slipping??

The prop is brand new in water maybe 5 times came with the boat when i purchased it.as for the rpm i do not have a tach so im not sure.if it necessary i can purchase one and thanks for your input

a tach is a worthy investment..impossible to tell whats going on with out it.
