hello, i am considering purchasing a Merc Mark 25 and the serial number is 876475 but am having difficulty ddetermining the manufacturer year.. please any assistance greatly appreciated...

Yep, it's a 1955 model year, 18hp. Personally, it's my favorite of the Mark 25s with the "waffle plate" front cover...
