Johnson lower runit

i have a johnson 1983 35hp long shaft j35elcts. I need a lower unit the part number is 0392539 and is the same for 83-84. I see a lot online that say they fit 76-92 and such. Can anyone help me on which year and what hp will also work. Thank you

The 82 and 83 use the same part numbers. 84 and beyond use different part numbers as does 81 and earlier. I don't know what they changed but if OMC changed part numbers it was because they made significant changes to something.
