Boat has been running fine all summer. Went speck fishing Sunday and ran 6 miles to get to fishing grounds no problems. Left to go to beach running @ 4500 RPM and motor died like it run out of gas. Hard to crank back up but then would not get on plane without going dead. Would run at 1200 RPM for a few minutes then die. Pump primer bulb to fill Fuel/Water separator on engine, hard to crank, would run at ~1200 RPM for a few minutes then die. Did this all the way back to boat ramp.. Pumped primer bulb today in driveway and raw fuel coming out of exhaust at prop. Hole in LP pump?

Re: 2000 250 OX66 SWSII - LP Pumps

Just replaced my LP pumps on my 200 ox66. My symptoms were different. Mine would barely idle, had raw fuel coming from exaust, when I pumped the bulb it would die. I had a ruptured diaphram in one of mine. Easy way to test, unbolt the pumps from the block and have someone pump the primer bulb. If you get any fuel coming out behind the pump it is bad. Once you pull them you can open them up to get a look at the diaphram.

I would replace them both if you haven't in several years. Should be done every 3 to 4 years anyway.

yesterday pulled pumps and pumped bulb and top two diaphragm pumps leaking. Replaced and run to Horn Island and back and ran like brand new.
