Mercury 650 Ignition Problems

Hi, I have a Mercury 650 and I am having problems getting it to start. It seems to not have any spark from the spark plugs and I do not have a manual for this motor. What kind of trouble shooting methods do you recommend for me to try to fix this problem?

Butch, If your 650 is a 4 cylinder model with a Magneto, I can help. I fought my 650 with a idle problem and had the Magnet off several times.

Let us know what you have, s/n, year, 3 or 4 cylinder.
