Went out on the boat for about 45 minutes, ran great, shut off motor and tried to restart and both batteries were dead. Would anyone know what the reason could be for this to happen?

Were the batteries actually dead or the engine would not turn over? Have you had the batteries load tested? Does the charging system on the engine work properly?

I doubt batteries are dead. My van did the same as your boat. Battery seemed suddenly dead....ended up being a bad starter.

the motor seemed not to have the power to turn over.the fish finder said low voltage. it wanted to turn but not enough juice.it turned slow.would you know where charging system is on motor.
