get gas tank out of a 1986 bayliner center console trophy

my freing bought ths boat but didnt test it out. we'll we foung out it has been sittin for a long time and the gas tank is full of now oil and gas gunk. my question is can we get it out of the boat to clean it. or how can we clean it. thank you all.

I have a 1984 Trophy center console and if its the same set up you would have to split the deck off the boat to get the gas tank out - All i did to clean it out was take out the fuel sending unit- raise the front of the boat as high as i could - pump out the old gas - sprayed carb cleaner into the tank and sucked that out. Put in a a fuel sending unit - lowered the boat and filled it up. Good time to run a new fuel line to the engine while down there. The one thing i didnt do while in the tank was to check and clean the fuel pick up - so now 2 years later i have to go back and do that due to a runability issue i am having. Have a look at that aswell to save time in the future.
