I have a 1985 force 125 outboard that i want to make sure the timing is set right on , i set static timing to 32 degrees advanced , the solec book says set static timing to 34 degrees , should i reset it to 34 degrees or leave it at 32 degrees , any input will be very helpful ,i want to get the full power out of my motor .

I have both the SELOC and Clymer manuals. My Clymer manual indicates the on your motor, the static timing should be set to 28? to achieve dynamic timing of 30?. From what I can recall on your motor, there is no 34? timing mark. I've seen several "discrepancies" like this in the SELOC manual. That's why I no longer use it.

ok on my flywheel they are two marks , one tdc and one btdc , the manual says the btdc mark is 34 degrees but is it really 30 degrees. i made a new mark 5/32 before the btdc mark and thats where i set it at but i dont know if thats right or not ,i was just going off of what the manual says
